Bachelor's degree in teaching

Please check which of the following cases applies to you before submitting your application.

1) Crediting of achievements when changing subjects (University of Vienna)

If you change your subject, you have to have your previous examinations from the General Principles of Educational Science credited for the new combination. Please send an e-mail with your name, matriculation number and the new study combination to: anerkennung.lehrerinnenbildung@univie.ac.at. You will receive an email as soon as the recognition has been issued.

Note on (subject) change

Please note that a (subject) change counts as the start of a new degree programme and thus as a change of degree programme. In the case of a change of degree programme, admission to the new degree programme does not take effect under study law until the semester begins on 1 October or 1 March (depending on the semester in which you change). It is therefore important that you leave your previous study programme open so that

  • grades can be entered.
  • you can register for courses with your previous degree programme, as prerequisites are asked for during registration, but these have not yet been entered in U:SPACE for the new degree programme. (When carrying out the credit transfer, the registration can be moved from the SSC to the current degree programme. Please indicate this in your mail).

The previous ("old") degree programme can be deregistered from 2 October or 2 March at the Admissions Office.

2) Recognition of academic achievements

Positively assessed achievements/examinations that regular students of the University of Vienna have completed at a recognised "higher" educational institution (e.g. university, college) can be recognised on application, provided they are equivalent. This also applies to achievements made at the University of Vienna if the "old" degree programme (teaching degree or another degree programme) in which the achievement was made has been closed and there is no simultaneous admission. The decision on recognition is made by the head of the study programme. Please fill out the application form and send it in an email with your name, matriculation number and the combination of the Bachelor's degree programme to: anerkennung.lehrerinnenbildung@univie.ac.at. You will receive an email as soon as the recognition has been issued.

Please fill out the application form on the basis of this information and send it in an email with your name, matriculation number and the combination of the Bachelor's degree programme to: anerkennung.lehrerinnenbildung@univie.ac.at.
