Deviating examination methods

Students with impairments have a right to deviating examination methods. The aim is to compensate for disadvantages caused by impairments in examinations and courses immanent to examinations. General information can be found on the website of Team Barrierefrei.

The following recommended procedure applies to the examinations and examination-immanent courses offered by our study programme management (SPL 49):

  • Information interview with the Barrier-Free TeamSubmission of the application form (PDF):
  • - Preferably by email via your u:account address to ssc.lehrerinnenbildung@univie.ac.at
in person during opening hours at the SSC Teacher Education (currently no opening hours)
    - by post to: SSC Teacher Education, Porzellangasse 4, 1090 Vienna
  • If necessary, counselling interview by SPL 49 or SSC Head of Teacher Education before approval of the application

As specialist/therapeutic proof, we recommend using the university's internal form for confirming study-relevant functional impairments if possible. The form is designed in such a way that no medical jargon needs to be used. This makes it easier for us as the SPL to process. General information on verifications can be found on the website of Team Barrierefrei.

If available, you can also voluntarily send us documents from your school days or from other universities/studies that already describe adaptations or aids for you. These can help us in processing your application for deviating examination methods.

Please allow enough time for the processing of the application and the preparation of the deviating methods by the teachers/examiners. Therefore, please always submit your application as early as possible or at the latest 4 weeks before you need different methods for the first time. If you already have an approved application from the second time, please contact your lecturers at least 2 weeks before the start of the examination-immanent course or your examiners at least 2 weeks before the start of the examination. Please submit the approved application from page 2.

NOTE: Other administrative regulations may apply for courses/examinations of other SPLs (further studies, EC, teaching subject, etc.). Please inform yourself on the respective website!
