On September 26, 2024, we warmly welcomed this year's first-year students of the secondary school teaching degree (general education) in the Lehramt Nord-Ost at the Center for Teacher Education.

In the morning, online live sessions provided valuable information about the teacher training course and tips for the first semester. The contents of the general educational science basics and the pedagogical-practical studies were explained and the students were able to learn details about mobility programs, the Basisgruppe Lehramt (ÖH) and multilingualism in schools. Some teaching subjects and the specialization in inclusive education were also presented.

In total, there were more than 756 listeners.

At the Open House in the afternoon (14:00 - 18:00), students were not only able to get advice on site, but were also able to gather lots of practical tips from experienced Master's students in four different workshops. Students not only got to know their fellow students, but also found out how they can organize their timetable, who is responsible for what, how learning works at university and where support services are available.
All 444 places were filled very quickly.

On October 2, 2024, first-year students met for a relaxed get-together in the Arkadenhof (main building of the University of Vienna). In addition to the opportunity to network, staff from the SSC Teacher Education were available to answer questions about the teaching profession.
